Active ingredient explainer – What’s in JimJams Beauty’s products?

JimJams Beauty’s products contain a number of active ingredients that are very useful for the skin – in today’s article you can get to know them a little closer.

ALOE VERA

Aloe vera gel contains lignan, mono- and polysaccharides, salicylic acid, triterpenes, vitamins (A, C, E, B12), minerals, trace elements. Aloe vera gel promotes collagen synthesis necessary for the formation of connective tissue fibers, accelerates the contraction of wounds, and has a high level of anti-inflammatory effect. It has many uses, it is excellent for minor injuries, sunburn, stings and abrasions.

GINGKO BILOBA

The extract of gingko biloba, also known as fern pine, has an extremely strong antioxidant effect that protects the skin from premature aging. Its use is recommended mainly on sensitive, fat- and water-deficient skin, as well as on aging, pale skin with a loose structure.

HIALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic acid has a water-binding role in the body, so it helps to preserve the youth and elasticity of the skin. It can bind several times the size of a hyaluronic acid molecule in liquid form, so it is very important that our cosmetics also contain this active ingredient, ensuring skin hydration.

JOJOBA OIL

Jojoba oil has a composition very similar to that of sebum produced by human skin, so it can be used in countless ways in body and skin care. Its high mineral and vitamin E content makes the skin radiant and has an anti-aging effect. Jojoba oil is also very useful for oily skin, as it normalizes sebum production.

ICHTHYOL

Ichthyol, also known as medicinal tar, is also recommended for oily, problematic skin, reduces sebum production and helps the wound healing process. It disinfects, soothes the skin and also has an epithelial effect.

LAVENDER OIL

Due to its antibacterial effect, lavender oil kills acne-causing bacteria and also disinfects wounds, making it excellent for acne-prone skin. It also relieves the symptoms of eczema, and its pleasant smell helps to relax after a tiring day.

PANTHENOL

Panthenol, also known as provitamin B5, is a substance with strong moisturizing and skin soothing properties, which is found in small amounts in almost all foods. It is used in skin care for its anti-inflammatory, sebum-regulating and wound-healing effects, and is also excellent for burns.

Q10

Coenzyme Q10 protects the skin against oxidative stress, harmful UV radiation and skin aging, as well as neutralizes harmful free radicals. Coenzyme is fat-soluble, so it can penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and exert its beneficial effects there.
