Healthy skin starts with proper cleansing

Healthy skin starts with proper cleansing

We hear almost every day how important cleansing is, yet many of us still tend to skip this simple daily task.

Clean skin is the foundation of beautiful skin and water alone is no longer enough.

Our grandmothers may have managed with just water, but today our skin is exposed to so many pollutants and cosmetic products that cleansing deserves real attention. Research shows that although we women easily spend a fortune on creams we do not consider cleansing products equally important. It is essential to understand that no matter how expensive or high quality our face cream is it cannot work properly if applied to unclean skin because the active ingredients cannot pass through impurities.

Nowadays we have a wide variety of products to choose from based on skin type age and comfort.

    Soap

The oldest option is traditional soap which is now enjoying a renaissance. However it should be used with care because only certain skin types tolerate its mild or stronger drying effect.

    Cleansing milk

One of the most universal cleansers. It comes in many variations so that every skin type can find a suitable option.

    Cleansing gel

One of todays most popular products is the foaming gel cleanser also called soap free soap. It is ideal for those who enjoy the fresh clean feeling of a foaming product but whose skin cannot tolerate the drying effect of traditional soap.

    Cleansing foam

Recently many cleansers have become available in foam form which cleanse the skin gently.

    Eye makeup remover

A favorite part of many women’s nightly routine. It removes makeup and is available in several forms such as gel textures or two phase oil based formulas.

    Exfoliator

Both the face and the body need regular exfoliation. It removes dead skin cells that prevent active ingredients from penetrating properly. Weekly exfoliation is recommended to renew the skin. The most common form is the mechanical type which buffs the skin with gentle abrasive particles. Enzyme exfoliators dissolve the ceramides between skin cells while alpha hydroxy acids remove excess dead skin through gentle peeling.

    Toner

Toning is the final and essential step of cleansing. A good toner restores the skin’s natural pH level which is important because the skin’s defense mechanisms work best in this range. Cleansing disrupts this balance and toner helps restore it while optimizing skin functions and improving surface hydration. Modern toners do not need to be drying because many alcohol free versions are now available and formulated for specific skin types.

There are also small techniques we can include such as alternating between warm and cold water while washing the face. This helps stimulate the skin and gives a healthy rosy glow first thing in the morning. For exfoliation you can use a soft brush designed for this purpose or peel off masks that lift away dead skin cells when removed.

The selection is huge and our only task is to carry out the most important step of skincare thoroughly and regularly.

Believe in it because your skin will reward you for the care.
